EN: An exceptional lot of **two British Levant registered covers**, both featuring highly collectible British Levant overprint stamps: (1) **"British Post Office Constantinople, No. 278"** — OHMS cover franked with two British Levant overprint stamps: 4 Piastre violet/purple + 1¼ Piastre, both with "CONSTANTINOPLE" British Post Office cancels. Addressed to "W. H. Lange, 7e Wernickerstrasse, Gleiwitz, Germany." (2) **"British Post Office Smyrna"** — registered OHMS cover with a 1 Piastre blue "LEVANT" overprint stamp, cancelled "BRITISH POST OFFICE / SMYRNA," addressed to "Herrn Peter Langen, Friedenau, Berlin, Niedstr. 40/41." Smyrna (İzmir) was one of the most important British postal agencies in the Ottoman Levant. Both covers are addressed to members of the same German family (Lange/Langen), suggesting a commercial connection in the Ottoman Empire.
