This early Turkish Republic parcel post document, printed bilingually in Ottoman Arabic script and French, records an international parcel shipment from Constantinople to France in 1926 — just three years after the founding of the Turkish Republic in 1923 and during Atatürk's sweeping modernization reforms. The coupon bears Turkish Republic fiscal/revenue stamps and multiple postal cancels documenting the international postal route. The transition from "Constantinople" to "Istanbul" (officially renamed in 1930) had not yet occurred at time of issue. An interesting piece combining Ottoman/Turkish postal history, early Republic philately, and French-Turkish international correspondence from the mid-1920s.
